Passage: 1 Corinthians 13:4–7

1 Corinthians 13 is the greatest treatise ever written on love. It is often read at weddings as an expression of the bride and groom's love for each other. If this chapter were truly understood and practiced, it would eleminate any problems within marriage (or any other relationship) and divorce would never end marital unions.

The apostle Paul put this wonderful passage on love right in the middle of his discussion about problems within the church at Corinth. This discourse on love is an island of tranquility within a sea of discord. The church at Corinth was rife with all sorts of rancor and discord. By penning chapter 13, Paul was admonishing the members of the Corinthian church to exercise God's kind of love and it would eliminate all the problems within the fellowship.
